New Year's Eve Noodles

Happy New Year! We celebrated by taking Owen out to eat his favorite food - Vietnamese food. It's just about the only meal that we can get Owen to sit for the whole meal. As you can see, he is a born natural with the chopsticks.

Owen & Santa

Owen went to visit Santa today. On the way over, he was very excited and said that Santa was gonna "freak out when he sees us". When I asked him why, he said because Santa would be so excited to see us. But as soon as we got there, he was in to looking around Santa's house, but having second thoughts about getting close to Santa.

Here is Owen when he first met Santa....

Here is Owen after Santa gave him a lollipop...

In case you weren't sure who is who, Santa is the one with the big belt buckle that says "SANTA".

After the photo visit, we returned to see Santa again. Owen wanted to show his new friend Santa the photo they took together and his helicopter toy. Sweet.

Halloween

When we asked Owen what he wanted to be this year, he had a few ideas, but finally landed on a green kangaroo. He picked out the exact green he wanted at the fabric store. Trick or treating was a success, he was very serious at first but was enthusiastic and wanting to go to every house by the end. He doesn't get much candy so he has been enjoying it. He calls it his "medicine".

Getting Ready for Halloween

Uncle Joe came over to carve pumpkins today. Here's a couple of pics he took on his iphone.

Pumpkin Patch

Here is Owen running around the hay maze.

Here he is on top of a giant hay stack (you can't really tell by the photo). King of the patch!

Scary scarecrow. Or maybe more like spacey scarecrow.

Blanket Fort

Owen and Andy love to make forts. Here is one of the latest. It's practically a village.

Swim Class

Owen just completed his 10 swimming lessons with "The Water Whisperer".
He actually learned a lot, and we were totally impressed. He can now hold his breath, crab walk along the inside edge of the pool, climb out of the pool, and swim around and dive under for toys with assistance. Can't wait to continue on next Summer.

Father's Footsteps

This is Owen's first t-shirt that he designed. He drew the picture, and picked out the ink color and t-shirt color himself. I think that's about 14 years before Andy started designing his first t-shirts. (oh yeah, and he's addicted to toothpaste. that's the cap in his mouth. we're working on that.)

Bathtub Artist

I think Owen is into abstract expressionism these days.

July 2008 - Atlanta

We spent a week, in early July, in Atlanta visiting family.
Karen's sister, Sue, was nice enough to host all of the Pitt's,
and more, at her farm house in the country for the 4th of July.
Many great memories were made that day.
Thanks Sue!

The kids were all brave enough to run through the corn fields.
Especially with this corn creature around.

The kids painted a horse. In cruelty-free paints of course.

The hay-ride gang.

Two of a kind.

Owen was completely obsessed with the tractor.
We could not get him off of it.

Bye, Bye Passy!

This week held a major milestone for Owen.
He had a visit from the pacifier fairy.
The pacifier fairy takes away your "passys" and gives them to the little babies who really need them. In exchange, the fairy leaves a gift.
Owen got a junior Bosch drill which he is totally obsessed with. He's been fixing a lot around the house.
So Owen deserves a big congratulations on this step. Big deal! He has been super addicted to it in the past. He's going on his fifth night without it tonight.

August 2008 - Hawaii

This past August we went to Hawaii for vacation.
Needless to say we had a great time and can't wait to go back.
We spent the first half of our vacation on the North Shore of Kauai - where we rented a house with our friends Christa, Eric and their daughter Wesley.
The second half of our vacation was spent on the North Shore of Oahu. We saw sea turtles, swam at the base of a waterfall (or as some say a "water drip" this time of year), and ate some good food in the town of Haleiwa.
This blog thing is new to us, so we hope to post some new pictures soon.

Owen loves to help out.
